The Social Media Leadership Forum are, literally, our closest client based on the floor below us at The Werks. Logo Logo’s relationship with SMLF started purely as a graphic design partner; producing websites, social media graphics and print materials. As we expand as an agency and specialised in filming, SMLF asked us to cover their latest event at Thomson Reuters, Canary Wharf.
The event was attended by SMLF’s members and guests from AXA, EE and Pepsi to name a few. The brief was to capture the essence of the event so that people could see what an insightful and collaborative session it was, with the ultimate aim of encouraging membership sign ups and event registration.
With a brief ticking off from the Police for filming outside without a permit, we ventured back into the entrance lobby of Thomson Reuters. Fortunately the stunning building gave us an excellent opportunity to film b-roll footage and timelapses. Filming the location b-roll put the event into context and built the beginning of the story.
Shooting with a Sony a7s, Canon 70D and 3x GoPros the variety of footage gave us an excellent mix to choose from when it came to editing.
Interviews were key for attendees to provide their feedback on the event. We set up the Sony a7s at high aperture to keep the subject as the point of focus and blur out the background with some movement to show the busy event. The Rode on camera microphone was perfect to catch interviewees voice but also give atmosphere to the shot. To ensure consistent, warm lighting we hired an LED bi colour light stand from the very helpful guys at Promotion Hire.
The Final Cut
Naomi, Event Manager at SMLF said:
“I knew we were in great hands when briefing Logo Logo to film our event. We requested a slick and engaging 2 minute film which captured the essence of SMLF sessions and would encourage prospects to enquire and convert to membership. The finished product was spot on and really provides a great taster in a really engaging and sophisticated way.”
More of our video projects are in on our work section.
